Verona

Called “little Rome” due to the importance of the city during the Roman Empire, Verona is the backdrop of the famous piece of Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, of which the Juliet’s balcony is a famous memory. Its narrow streets make Verona a picturesque city, really good to be visited on foot.
The most famous sites are the Roman remains like the Arena and the Middle ages squares and churches, but also a stroll on the banks of Adige river, or even a visit the Scaligeri castle are of great interest. Every summer the city hosts the Arena di Verona Opera Festival, with the great titles of the opera played in the enchanting location of the roman amphitheatre. Thanks to its location, Verona is very well connected and can be an ideal point of departure for a visit to the region with the wine area of Valpolicella to the north, Venice to the East and Garda lake to the West.
